Stigmas Still Around

Can't believe I'm writing this because I feel like I need this to get out of my chest. I hated how mental health stigmas still around — in Singapore and other countries I believed. How mental health stigmas happened? Because the perception of how humans sees mental health is how crazy and insane we are.

That's absolute wrong. No. We are not crazy. We are not insane. We are humans. We have feet to walk, we have arms to swing and carry, we have eyes to see, we have nose to breath, we have mouth to talk and eat, we have enough set of fingers to type. What about us that is crazy? Is it because we can turn the table upside down? Is it because we could cause huge shame to you?

All jobs — employment especially, isn't open minded in accepting people with mental disorders ; for they believed that we are crazy and insane and could bring shame to the company and other employers. The truth is, you are the one who is crazy and insane. We are not. And it's because of you, your perception of us, make us insane.

We applied multiple jobs and all rejected us, why? Because we have mental disorders. Ironic, isn't it? We can't be able to have a job because we have mental disorders. Even if we have, not all can have a long lasting job because our mental disorders got in a way. Should I blame mental health disorders for ruining my life? Yes, and no.

Mental disorders is not all about crazy, maniac or insane. We are mentally ill — but that doesn't mean that we can lead a normal life like how you guys are. This is also one of the reason why many died of suicide because you don't allow them to showcase their talent, and not given any chance to prove that we can work and we need a job to survive.

How only if we have the chance...
How only if mental disorders is treated the same with physical disorders...
